Kai’s Canines has been professionally walking and caring for dogs in the local area since 2010. Run by a former dog trainer and animal enthusiast Russell Marett, Kai’s Canines only covers the EX8 postcode area.
Whether it is Exmouth Dog Walking while you are away at work or in need of extra support and socialisation for your dog, or Exmouth Dog Boarding while you are on holiday, Kai’s Canines offer a professional alternative to kennels or using friends or family.
Services for dogs include dog walking on a group basis, and home dog boarding while you go on holiday which is exclusive to dog walking clients.
Meet The Team
Kai
The Top Dog
Kai is our crazy Cardigan Corgi who loves to play with everyone.
The business has been named after him to reflect his love to socialise with every canine!
If your dog loves to play, Kai will be happy to reciprocate!
Kai loves playing with toys but especially chasing balls. He can usually be found in any mud or water.
Russell Marett
The Top Human
Russell graduated from the University of Exeter with an undergraduate degree in Archaeology, and currently completing a Masters degree in Anthrozoology (human-animal interactions).
His experience with animals started from a very young age where he began to handle dogs from four years old in disciplines such as agility and obedience, eventually reaching competition standard where he has had much success. Russell has had significant experience with a variety of dog breeds both training and handling for nearly 19 years and has been a trainer for a dog training club from his home and one for the former Exmouth Dog Training Club.
Russell is police checked and his certificate is available upon request for your peace of mind.
Ian Leaves
The Assistant
Ian is Russell’s partner and also graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Biology. He works as a Research Technician at the University but also assists with the dogs in the business by helping on occasional walks and providing companionship for some of the day care dogs during his flexible hours and those that are boarding with us overnight.
Over the years Ian has learnt about different dog behaviour from the large number of dogs that have passed through our house over the years.
